Another Pumpkin Run is over and from the comments I received, it was a good weekend. I enjoyed seeing everyone as I raced from the start line to pit stops and lunch stops and then back to the finish line. It’s always a hoot watching Dana Sharp wheel that Hudson around tight corners and curves.
Thanks to everyone that joined us and our sponsors, we were able to donate $6,500 to the Millsboro Fire Company and give the Millsboro Police Department $500 for their Needy Family Fund. THANKS! THANKS!
I do have a correction to make. I found out the Hershey Car Show and Swap Meet is the weekend that we planned to have our rally. Because so many members of our rally family attend the Hershey event, I was able to change the 2018 Pumpkin Run to October 19-21, 2018. Please make a note of the date change.
I want to thank Doug Sharp for becoming President of the Northeast Rally Club and I thank everyone for supporting me for the last 17 years.
Also, I want to thank Joe Roche for handling our website www.northeastrallyclub.com .
I hope everyone has a healthy and safe winter and that you will join Howard and Doug in Fairport, NY next May for our spring rally.
May 4, 5 & 6, 2018
Wow, can you believe it? I was one and done, now I’m two and done.
Announcement: NERC Spring Rally 2018 will be in Fairport, NY as it was in 2016. The dates are May 4, 5 & 6, 2018. I have confirmed with the Egypt Fire Hall and the Hampton Inn and everybody is on board with the dates. The Fireman’s committee replied with “Bring it on!”
I will do my best to duplicate what I did in 2016. We are only taking 50 cars, so get yourself on the list with a $200.00 deposit. Please make the check out to Lowell Twitchell NERC and send it to me, Howard Sharp 445 Loud Rd. Fairport, NY 14450. Balance to be paid in the Spring of 2018.
Thank you all for giving me, Howard Sharp, the opportunity to host this spring event again.

I am so fortunate to have spent the weekend with the greatest navigator and life partner, Pauline. She never stops making me better. Thanks to her we finished 1st in SOP and earned 3 ACES!! We are both blessed to be able to be able to enjoy the company of our friends from the Delaware Valley Jaguar Club and Northeast Rally Club. The Tourjes, Hursts and Rutledges shared information with us that kept us on track and on time and we appreciate their help. So many people to thank, so little space. Bob Bryan deserves special recognition for his service as president to NERC. Thanks to everyone for a memorable rally.
Congratulations to Doug Sharp on being nominated/elected to be only our second ever President!
Ok, it was a little “wet” today. It happens. Ok, maybe there was an oil slick after the pit stop, and we couldn’t get any traction. Yup, the scores could have been better. But it was still fun, and the real rally starts tomorrow. Scores will be posted here soon. For now, here are the cars as they returned from today’s challenge!
And you know what that means – it’s time to run with the Pumpkins! I have it on good authority Jim Feeney has completed the course instructions and is giggling like a schoolgirl over what he’s going to do to the competitors. Let’s show him who’s boss!!! Who is with me!?!
Check it out, it’s the newest rally car (assuming it gets finished in time), Joe Roche’s 1964 GTO he has been restoring over the last 7 or 8 decades.
