Fairport 2018 Stage 1 Scores

Fairport 2018 Stage 2 Scores

It’s over, and what a weekend! We can’t thank Howard, Janet, Doug, Dana and crew more for putting on an outstanding event. We are pretty sure the $15,600 check to the Egypt Fire Department is a record that will stand for a long time. Congrats to the winners, Car 38 Martin and Martin on their 18.43 second weekend and victory over the hard charging Knowles and Gentry team in car 66. SOP winners were the Craigs in car 18, and Rookie honors went to the Stahl girls in car 16. Thanks to everyone who attended and/or contributed. We will see you again in October!

RIP Kurt Rappold

We are saddened to hear of the passing of longtime NERC member Kurt Rappold today. Kurt was a good friend of the NERC, and it is fair to say that without his support we may have folded in the early days. We will share details as they become available.

If you want to send Pat a card, the address is 116 Gov Markham Dr, Glen Mills, PA 19342

Fairport Rally is SOLD OUT!

Unbelievable job from the Sharps! We just got the word that the Spring 2018 rally is now full. Also, unoficially, the block of rooms at the Hampton Inn has been sold out. There are still rooms available, but at a higher rate. There are several other hotels in the area including a Holiday Inn Express, Microtell Inn and Homewood Suites. NERC is not endorsing these hotels, but they are within a short drive of the Hampton Inn.

Only 2 months to go. Lets get the cars ready to rally!!!

Rally Round the Erie Canal

Fairport, NY

May 4, 5 & 6, 2018

Wow, can you believe it?  I was one and done, now I’m two and done.

Announcement:  NERC Spring Rally 2018 will be in Fairport, NY as it was in 2016.  The dates are May 4, 5 & 6, 2018.   I have confirmed with the Egypt Fire Hall and the Hampton Inn and everybody is on board with the dates. The Fireman’s committee replied with “Bring it on!”

I will do my best to duplicate what I did in 2016.  We are only taking 50 cars, so get yourself on the list with a $200.00 deposit.  Please make the check out to Lowell Twitchell NERC and send it to me, Howard Sharp 445 Loud Rd.  Fairport, NY 14450.  Balance to be paid in the Spring of 2018.

Thank you all for giving me, Howard Sharp, the opportunity to host this spring event again.

I am so fortunate to have spent the weekend with the greatest navigator and life partner, Pauline. She never stops making me better. Thanks to her we finished 1st in SOP and earned 3 ACES!! We are both blessed to be able to be able to enjoy the company of our friends from the Delaware Valley Jaguar Club and Northeast Rally Club. The Tourjes, Hursts and Rutledges shared information with us that kept us on track and on time and we appreciate their help. So many people to thank, so little space. Bob Bryan deserves special recognition for his service as president to NERC. Thanks to everyone for a memorable rally.

Trophy Run 2017 in the books!

Ok, it was a little “wet” today. It happens. Ok, maybe there was an oil slick after the pit stop, and we couldn’t get any traction. Yup, the scores could have been better. But it was still fun, and the real rally starts tomorrow. Scores will be posted here soon.  For now, here are the cars as they returned from today’s challenge!

It’s October!

And you know what that means – it’s time to run with the Pumpkins! I have it on good authority Jim Feeney has completed the course instructions and is giggling like a schoolgirl over what he’s going to do to the competitors.  Let’s show him who’s boss!!!  Who is with me!?!

Check it out, it’s the newest rally car (assuming it gets finished in time), Joe Roche’s 1964 GTO he has been restoring over the last 7 or 8 decades.
